What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rare Blood Donor Recruiter position at LifeShare Blood Centers?
LifeShare is seeking an engaging sales or marketing professional to administer our Rare Blood Donor Recruitment program. The Recruiter will engage blood donors with rare antigen phenotypes for repeat voluntary blood donations to support patient transfusion needs and meet reagent manufacturer customer demands, helping to ensure a safe and diverse blood supply is available to healthcare centers in our community when needed for traumas, therapies and treatments.
Join us in our important mission, "connecting donors and the lives they impact."
Reporting to the Director of Scientific Support Services, the Recruiter will work to understand rare donor phenotypes, specific blood attributes and reasons for contacting particular donors. To meet reagent manufacturer needs for rare units, the Recruiter will identify and recruit donors by phone or email, schedule and confirm their donation appointments, respond to donor eligibility questions or other concerns, and update donor records in HemaConnect. As part of the donor retention strategy, the Recruiter will follow-up with the donor after collection to recognize their donation and encourage future donations. They will communicate with reagent manufacturers to sell collected red blood cells and platelets units; sequester collected red blood cells in anticipation of labeling and shipping, and prepare shipping paperwork for units sold.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and prior experience in sales, marketing, communications, or community outreach; excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated sales or recruiting capabilities; and a passion for service to our community.
Beginning base salary is $38,000 - 42,000, commensurate with experience. LifeShare offers a generous benefits package, including employer-paid medical, life and disability insurance; employer base retirement and matching contributions (6%) to the 401(k) savings plan, paid time off, and employee wellness program.
