Job description
Life Skills Residential is a provider of long-term care specializing in the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive support of adults who have persistent psychiatric and mental health conditions. These include traumatic brain or other catastrophic injuries, organic neurological issues, chronic pain, and chronic medical conditions. We operate semi-independent and supervised apartments that aid our clients in progressing toward their highest level of independence, function, and overall quality of life. Our team is focused on meeting patients where they are and treating each as an individual. The ideal candidate understands ADA requirements, can work as part of a team or individually, ability to problem solve and trouble shoot, and shows initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities equipment and systems
- Troubleshoot and repair issues with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Conduct routine maintenance of company vehicles
- Perform light yard work as seasonally required
- Setup new group home and apartment living spaces including procuring, assembling, and moving furniture
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and ensure efficient operations
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any significant findings or concerns
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and procedures
- Familiarity with logic controllers, HVAC/R systems, and high voltage equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various facilities systems and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills for interacting with employees, tenants, and contractors
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
