Position Summary
The Cash Poster is responsible for accurately and efficiently posting payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts. This role ensures timely reconciliation of deposits and works closely with the billing team to support revenue cycle operations in a behavioral health setting.
Relationships and Contacts
Within the organization: Maintains close and frequent contact with the finance and revenue cycle team members within both Lifeskills and Odyssey.
Outside the organization: Maintains close and frequent contact with clients, insurance providers and third-party vendors, as necessary.
Position Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
- Posts insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts in the electronic health record (EHR) and billing system.
- Reconcile daily deposits with posted payments to ensure accuracy.
- Processes Daily Cash Posting including posts, balance, and files and logs approved cash posting.
- Researches and resolves discrepancies related to payments, including misapplied funds or underpayments.
- Processes Daily Cash Posting including posts, balance, and files approved cash posting.
- Maintains detailed and accurate records of all transactions.
- Collaborates with the billing team to follow up on outstanding claims, refunds, and payer discrepancies.
- Ensures work is performed in compliance with all company and regulatory requirements, protecting the privacy of client information.
- Communicates essential information to all necessary team members in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manages and uploads patient scanned documents such as insurance authorizations
- Reviews patient accounts self-pay balances and communicates information to patients and/or facility team members.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provides backup for revenue cycle team as needed.
- Attends team meetings and trainings, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
Position requires a high school diploma, bachelors degree preferred, and two (2) years of directly related experience.
