The Field (Travel) Pharmacy Technician will travel to the skilled nursing facilities to assist in pharmacy centered tasks to ensure facility compliance with regulations and standards of practice related to medication storage and administration through regular inspections and audits at the facility.
The Field Travel Pharmacy Technician shall provide audit services on all aspects of medication storage, labeling, administration and pharmacy services related to such within the Facility in accordance with Applicable Law and State Operations manual (SOM).
The position shall work in conjunction with the Consultant Pharmacists and Pharmacy Operations Manager.
The Field (Travel) Pharmacy Technician will perform pharmacy tasks and be the point person for nurse training on pharmacy processes.
- Must complete and file inspection reports in a timely fashion and discuss key points with pharmacy leadership.
- Prepare medication returns and tracking of them when required.
- Perform MAR to cart audits quarterly.
- Stock Cubex cabinet.
- Cycle count Cubex cabinet.
- Attend discharge planning to access desire for Follow Me Home medications.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, CREDENTIALS:
- Valid Indiana pharmacy technician license
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Previous LTC/SNF experience highly preferred
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Reliable transportation for travel to assigned facilities
- Field (Travel) Pharmacy Technicians for the Anderson, Pendleton, Noblesville and Richmond, Indiana markets
