GENERAL SUMMARY:
A Health Care Aide’s primary responsibility is to assist patients with their daily activites. While Some HCA’S may have additional responsibilities such as administering medication, the core function of a HCA on the job includes: Bathing, Dressing, and taking vital signs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Bathing and dressing patients
- Taking vital signs
- Collecting information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses and doctors
- Answering patient calls
- Examining patients for bruises and other injuries/wounds
- Turning or repositioning bedridden patients
- Lifting patients into beds, wheelchairs or exam tables
- Cleaning and sanitizing patient areas
- Provide and empty bedpans
- Changing sheets and restocking rooms with necessary supplies
- Bathing and dressing patients
SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

EDUCATION:
- High School Degree or GED
- Current CPR Certification
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of one year full-time experience in direct client care in an institutional setting (Hospital or Nursing Facility)
- Successful completion of a Health Care Aide course that meets federal/state requirements.
- Takes oral and written instruction well.
- Works in a team responsibly and independently without direct supervision.
- Records observations and activities.
- Good communication skills.
