Lifesteps is expanding services in Butler County and has an immediate need for several Day Program Aides or Day Program Assistants in Butler, PA.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Have fun while you work and bring joy into the lives of program participants! The Day Program Aide / Instructor is responsible for assisting special needs adults with activities such as community participation outings, basic daily living skills, crafts and holiday celebrations, cleaning of the classroom, etc.
Staff assist, observe and report on the accomplishments of participants, while maintaining a safe and clean environment. The day program assistant transports participants in a company vehicle out into the community for learning, engagement and fun activities during the day.
Part-time Hours - Monday through Friday - 9 am to 2 pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Current driver’s license with the ability to travel utilizing an Agency vehicle
- Obtain and maintain certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - provided by Lifesteps
- First aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain within six (6) months - provided by Lifesteps
Preferred:
- One-year experience working with individuals in the human services field, like direct care, home health aide, personal care attendant, TSS, etc.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology, Recreational Therapy, Health Education, Nutrition, or any other major
- Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators Certificate (ACRE)
- Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP)
