Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, and Hernando Counties.

The Emergency Evaluation (BA) provides assessments and intervention services for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and/or seeking substance abuse detoxification services. Documents all contacts and evaluations using established methods and protocol in a timely, legible manner and in accordance with Center policy and procedures. Assists individuals to obtain services not provided by the Access Center by linking to other programs within LifeStream or referring to professionals outside LifeStream’s array of services when necessary.
Knowledge and Job Skills:
Working knowledge of all laws and dynamics pertaining to the voluntary and involuntary treatment of individuals deemed to be in danger of harming themselves or others by virtue of their behavior, mental illness or drug and/or alcohol use/abuse as specified in the Baker and Marchman Acts.
Excellent interviewing and crisis intervention skills are essential to this position. Good communication skills are vital. Computer knowledge is vital to the satisfactory performance of this position.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in #psychology, #counseling, #social work, #human services, or related field
- A minimum of 2 years behavioral healthcare experience required
- Level II Background Clearance
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:
Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
