Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, Hernando counties.
PEER SPECIALIST - CCBHC Citrus 120
JOB SUMMARY: The Peer Specialist (non certified) is a member of the multidisciplinary team has responsibility to carry out recovery rehabilitation and support functions that assist in treatment; provides job readiness training, provides education, support and consultation to families; assist consumers with goal setting and achievement; assists in facilitation of consumer connection with community supports and agencies. This position also provides crisis intervention under the clinical supervision of staff with a professional degree.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be a member of the team for an assigned number of consumers.
- Consult with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the treatment process.
- Document client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to establish methods and procedures.
- Participate in daily staff organizational meetings and treatment planning review meetings.
- Participate in providing treatment and substance use services.
- Participate in comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history (e.g., onset, course and effect of illness, past treatment and responses and risk behaviors), mental status, and diagnosis; physical health and dental health; use of drugs and alcohol; education and employment; social development and functioning; activities of daily living (e.g., self-care, living situation, nutrition, money management); and family structure and relationships
- The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
- Willingness to abide by the company’s published rules and regulations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Education: High school degree/ GED
- Experience: Experience with adults who have severe and persistent mental illness
- Driving Requirements:
- Must be Over the age of 21 required
- Minimum of 5-years driving experience required
- Possess a Valid FL Driver’s license (within 30 days of hire if currently do not possess)
- Possess a continuously valid US Driver’s license for the past three years, from date of issue required
- Safe Driving record required
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional trainings/ certifications.
