LifeStream is a behavioral health and social services organization that provides high-quality treatment, education, care management, rehabilitation, child welfare, primary care and homeless services to children, adolescents, and adults. Located in Central Florida, LifeStream primarily serves the residents of Lake, Citrus and Sumter Counties, with additional programs located in Orange, Marion, Hernando counties.

JOB SUMMARY: The Crisis Hotline Counselor BA/BS position facilitates the Access Center by screening all calls (handling those which do not need direct administrative response) and entering them into an electronic system. He/she delivers behavioral healthcare services to individuals in crisis to determine the most appropriate level of care required. This position performs preliminary assessment of clients in order to determine eligibility to LifeStream Behavioral Center’s continuum of care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The ability to comply with the regulations requiring a workplace of dignity and respect and equal employment opportunity compliance.
- The ability to work collaboratively with others and to accept constructive criticism from supervisors and managers.
- Willingness to abide by the company’s published rules and regulations
- Collect demographic and payor source information.
- Complete Prescreen with clients in person or via phone in order to determine level of care and appropriate services.
- Provide crisis intervention services to consumers by telephone or in person.
- Responds to calls for information and assistance.
- Schedule psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and/or therapeutic appointments in Lifestream Behavioral Center’s continuum of services.
- Complete referrals for appropriate services.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field required
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Level II Background Clearance
- Minimum of One (1) year experience in behavioral healthcare setting
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional trainings/ certifications.
