JOB SUMMARY: The BA Behavioral Specialist is responsible for providing intervention services in the form of screening, assessment, group and individual sessions with court ordered consumers.

The Behavioral Specialist shall perform the following responsibilities without limitation.
- Perform outpatient intervention counseling
- Perform emergency screenings, assessments, interventions as needed
- Be knowledgeable of the Marchman Act
- Facilitate didactic group sessions
- Maintain open communication and respect with referral sources
- Promote substance abuse education in the community
- Adhere to intervention protocol as addressed in Chapter 65D-30
- Assist in networking resources and referral services for consumers
- Maintain center records in accordance with stated policies and procedures.
- Maintain consistency and accountability in consumer/contract reporting requirements.
- Maintain current all staff development requirements for this position.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services field or related
- Experience:
- Two years’ experience working in the substance abuse or related field
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the first six months of hire and annually. Other training and/or professional development may be assigned due to evolution of programs.
