As a Solar Technician, you will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures related to solar photovoltaic (PV) system installations on roofs or other structures in compliance with relevant codes, siteassessment and schematics. This is likely to include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. Essential job duties include:
- Plan layout and install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications of job specifications and local codes
- Test, inspect, and perform routine maintenance of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
- Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, inverters, PV panels or other components
- Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
Education/Experience
- Experience in bending tubing or conduit and fabricating, assembling and disassembling manufactured products by hand
- Experience in performing safety inspections in construction or resource extraction settings and industrial, manufacturing or repair settings
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
