What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist position at LifeSync Malibu Detox?
A luxury drug and alcohol detox and residential program in Malibu is currently looking for an experienced Therapist to join our dynamic team. We are Malibu’s premier drug and alcohol treatment center. We are the only physician owned and operated treatment center in Malibu. Our top priority is to make sure that our clients are safe through a challenging time.
Major Task, Duties and Responsibilities
· Knowledge of drug and alcohol dependency, mental health, family systems and 12 step/recovery resources in the community.
· Maintain appropriate documentation as required.
· Conduct assessments of clients at the time of admission and re-assessments as required.
· Conduct mental status examinations.
· Provide appropriate diagnoses and treatment recommendations based on a review of the client’s history, signs, and symptoms.
· Provide individual, couple/family, and group therapy as needed.
· Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of clients and staff.
· Crises intervention services, including SI/HI assessments.
· Treatment Planning.
· Participation in Case Conference Reviews.
· Participate in Utilizations Reviews as required.
· Knowledge of current legal standards pertaining to professional practice, reporting requirements, professional boundaries, and relate issues.
· Knowledge and training in DBT preferred
· Knowledge and experience working in residential drug and alcohol treatment center.
Prerequisite Qualifications
Following are the qualifications required to perform the essential functions of this position. Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
A Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or social science. Licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Science as an LCSW or MFT, or by the Board of Psychology as a licensed Psychologist. Minimum of two years experience in evaluating and/or treating persons suffering from mental illness and/or substance abuse. Prior supervisory experience.
