Position Overview: Lifetime Assistance, Inc. is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). As a DSP, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Responsibilities:
Care and Support:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to promote independence.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that respects the dignity and rights of each individual.
Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain clear and open communication with clients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Document client progress, health records, and incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report any changes in client behavior or health to the appropriate supervisors.
Community Engagement:
- Plan and engage individuals in community-based activities, outings, and social events.
- Encourage participation in vocational and recreational opportunities to enhance social skills and community integration.
Training and Development:
- Attend mandatory training sessions and stay updated on best practices in the field of developmental disabilities.
- Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or a related field is a plus.
- Compassion, patience, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on individuals' lives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
