As we continue to innovate, we are seeking employees to help build our Automation and Controls Department in our Clearfield, UT location.
The role supports large scale automation and robotics to ensure safe operation of automation systems to create a high quality product. The Robot and Automation Technician will be responsible for working with engineering, machine processors/production teams and maintenance on a variety of systems. Types of systems they can expect to be working on are Fanuc robots, Allen-Bradley and B&R PLC controls systems, conveyors and more.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Working with the operations team to keep automation systems and robotic components available to meet safety, quality, and production goals
- Conducting planned preventative maintenance on automation systems, robotic components, molding machines, and support equipment
- Repairing and adjusting sensors, vision systems, pickup locations, vacuum systems, parts carriers, and transfer/loading systems
- Working in a team environment to prioritize emergency repairs with the needs of the organization
- Work with engineering teams with robotic cell integrations, start-up, & troubleshooting
- Service and repair of internally engineered and OEM automation systems.
- Familiar with aspects of PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley preferred), and HMI Modifications, electrical troubleshooting, and production support
- Understanding of industrial machine networking (Ethernet I/P, EtherCat, SCADA)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree/Technical School Training with a focus in the Robotics, Mechanical or Electrical fields
- 2 to 4 years of experience in Automated Systems and Controls
- Electrical and Electronic principles
- Knowledge of PLC Programs, with 1-2 year experience in PLC programming and HMI experience
- Hydraulics and pneumatics experience
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical control drawings
- Systematic troubleshooting experience
- AutoCAD electrical experience preferred
- Availability to perform 24/7 emergency on-call duties on-site and by phone as needed
- Ability to travel when required (<10%)
- Ability to take initiative and work efficiently to complete tasks with limited supervision
- Must be able to pass a background check
