Lifetime Products, Inc. is hiring a Metals Purchasing Agent. The primary responsibilities of this position will include sourcing; negotiating; and procuring various metal materials from suppliers to meet the production needs of the company; ensuring the best possible price, quality, and delivery time while maintaining strong relationships with vendors; and adhering to company standards and specifications. The preferred candidate will possess strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Includes the following and other duties may be assigned):
- Reviews requisitions
- Evaluates and approves vendors
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
- Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
- Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
- Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Approves invoices for payment.
- Expedites delivery of goods to users.
- Some travel to vendors or industry events will be associated with this role.
Qualifications:
- Academic degree or comparable experience
- Previous experience in procurement and supply chain.
- Individual must be able to successfully manage prioritizing multiple assignments, with a high level of urgency while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on solution-oriented mindset; and analytical thinking.
- Excellent negotiation and organization skills
- Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to build reports and calculate figures.
- Strong research skills
- Must be able to pass a background check
