Lifetime Products, Inc. is hiring a Metals Purchasing Agent. The primary responsibilities of this position will include sourcing; negotiating; and procuring various metal materials from suppliers to meet the production needs of the company; ensuring the best possible price, quality, and delivery time while maintaining strong relationships with vendors; and adhering to company standards and specifications. The preferred candidate will possess strong leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Includes the following and other duties may be assigned):

• Reviews requisitions
• Evaluates and approves vendors
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
• Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations.
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Approves invoices for payment.
• Expedites delivery of goods to users.
• Some travel to vendors or industry events will be associated with this role.

Qualifications:

• Academic degree or comparable experience
• Previous experience in procurement and supply chain.
• Individual must be able to successfully manage prioritizing multiple assignments, with a high level of urgency while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on solution-oriented mindset; and analytical thinking.
• Excellent negotiation and organization skills
• Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to build reports and calculate figures.
• Strong research skills
• Must be able to pass a background check
