Job Title: Prototype Tech

Shift: Day (Flexible Hours)

Status: Full Time
Closing date: March 7th, 2025
Job Description: Will construct sales samples and prototypes out of metal and plastic under the direction of engineers and designers. Plans activities of designated projects to ensure that the objectives of each project are accomplished within the agreed time. This job requires you to have a good attention to detail.
Applicants must have excellent attendance, performance, and safety record (will be reviewed before interviewing); be self-motivated; be able to make own decisions based on information provided; good communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and professionally, excellent housekeeping and organizational skills are required. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Tech 1 or 2 positions are available depending on experience.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read engineer drawings
- Ability to use calipers and a tape measure
- MIG welding experience
- Some Brake Press experience (Sheet metal)
- Basic machining experience is helpful
- Metal fabrication experience
- Some tooling experience is helpful
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Works well with other internal departments to obtain final goal
- Self-motivated
* This position requires someone that understands and can read engineer drawings, has an understanding of Lifetime Products parts and hardware, has 1 year welding experience, metal fabrication experience, some machining experience, and some brake press forming. Basic mathematical aptitude is required. A good understanding of working with tubing and sheet metal is a plus.
