Position Overview: As we establish our commercial waterproofing division, we are seeking a driven Commercial Waterproofing Estimator/PM to help build and grow this new service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for waterproofing projects and is eager to contribute to the development of a new and impactful division. You will be a key player in setting the foundation for this service, from developing cost structures to establishing relationships with suppliers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the division: Work closely with leadership to develop estimating processes and pricing models for our new waterproofing division.
- Review project specifications, blueprints, and contract documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for waterproofing projects.
- Identify and assess the scope of work for various waterproofing systems (e.g., roofing, foundation, parking decks, etc.).
- Help to manage the project after award
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors to gather all necessary project details for accurate estimates.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions and gather data to create precise estimates.
- Prepare and submit bid proposals to potential clients, ensuring competitive and thorough pricing.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and reliable service.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, offering technical advice and supporting the ongoing success of each project.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing projects to ensure estimates align with actual project needs and costs.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, materials, and best practices in waterproofing to ensure our division remains competitive and innovative.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in commercial waterproofing estimating or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of waterproofing systems, materials, and applications in commercial settings.
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the desire to help shape and grow a new division.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
- Proficient in estimation software (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in estimating large-scale commercial projects.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
