Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Studio Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Peoria & Springfield locations. The Studio Manager manages and leads the operation and staff of a portrait studio in a host environment. They drive growth and are accountable for the studio’s ability to achieve results (e.g., labor margin (profit), sittings, sales average, customer satisfaction, photography) by providing remarkable customer service throughout the photographic, sales and portrait delivery experience. Following Camera Room Expectations and Posing Guidelines, they capture portraits to maximize the sales average and exceed the customer’s expectations. Studio Managers follow established operational processes (e.g., scheduling, hiring, training, selling, photographing), ensure compliance, as well as manage the performance, and develop the skills, of their Team Members. Studio Managers also demonstrate concern for the safety of our customers (infants, children and adults) by following established safety procedures and practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management and administrative tasks, ensuring that both studios run smoothly while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires effective leadership skills to manage a team, handle cash transactions, and maintain consistent experiences for our customers. Dual Studio Managers work 3-4 days in a primary location and 1-2 days in a secondary location each week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs the duties and responsibilities of the Team Member role:
  • Meets customer needs by photographing and selling images that create and share each customer’s unique story and considering the ways the customer uses portrait images.
  • Takes portraits efficiently, within company standards (including Camera Room Expectations, Posing Guidelines and Photography Policies), that meet the customer’s needs and the company’s quality and variety expectations to maximize Sales Average and customer satisfaction.
  • Follows the Sales Process accurately and consistently to meet or exceed Sales Average expectations by knowing and communicating current packaging, pricing and promotion information and leveraging appropriate selling techniques.
  • Drives additional portrait sittings, proactively, by approaching potential customers, leveraging company provided call lists, scheduling and confirming appointments, as well as following up on missed or cancelled appointments.
  • Executes sales transaction procedures properly and appropriately by using point of sale system/cash register. - Promotes business by building rapport to increase customer retention and referrals.
  • Provides professional customer service by greeting customers, directing traffic flow, communicating clearly and proactively, answering the phone and returning messages. - Drives business results and growth through performance, labor and expense management and the use of local studio marketing tactics and tools as well as positive host store/mall management relationships.
  • Performs administrative functions (e.g., ensuring compliance, scheduling, ordering supplies, approving time records) accurately by established deadlines.
  • Demonstrates concern for the safety of all customers and employees by ensuring a clean and safe environment, following safety guidelines, maintaining awareness of children in the studio and reporting all safety hazards and injuries/accidents. Maintains photographic equipment and props.
  • Safe-guards all customer, employee and company proprietary and personal information ensuring customer and employee data is kept confidential at all times.
  • Manages and leads a team (2 or more part-time per location), including providing day-to-day work direction, sharing performance feedback, giving recognition and communicating effectively.
  • Monitors and evaluates individual and team performance.
  • Employs techniques to build teamwork in support of business needs to drive results. Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Takes initiative to solve, and ensures resolution of, all customer experience or product issues, in a customer-focused manner by leveraging established Service Recovery processes, as needed.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains Team Members, in accordance with LPS guidelines and processes, to build and maintain a high performing team.
  • Completes all required training and skill improvement tasks, as directed by manager.
  • Works in multiple studios (where applicable) based on business needs.
  • Performs other projects or miscellaneous duties as requested or assigned.

Education/Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required; college degree, preferred.
  • 2 years Supervisory experience preferred
  • 2-5 years sales, retail, service-related experience, strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to quickly develop a good rappot with children and adults
  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g., navigation, data entry) (specifically Microsoft Outlook and Excel)
  • Detail oriented in the execution and follow-up of work.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in cash handling and customer service
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and prioritize work.
  • Ability to negotiate and conduct employee interviews

Physical Requirements

When performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, bend, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, twist, balance, reach, use hands and fingers to perform repetitive tasks. The employee must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
