As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position requires compassion, patience, and a commitment to providing exceptional care. You will assist clients with daily activities, ensuring their needs are met while promoting independence and dignity.

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities in accordance with their care plans.
• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and other daily needs.
• Monitor and document client progress, reporting any changes in behavior or health status.
• Advocate for resident rights and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support clients in community integration activities, encouraging social interaction and engagement.
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in First Aid and CPR techniques (Certification can be obtained at the time of hire).
• Experience in home health care or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and the ability to recognize changes in client conditions.
• Familiarity with resident rights and ethical considerations in direct support roles.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
• Ability to develop and follow individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to providing high-quality care.
