What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Assistant Teacher position at LifeWays Early Childhood Center?
Located on the Koenen Land Preserve, LifeWays Milwaukee has provided natural, play-based child care to the Riverwest community for 20 years. With life as the curriculum and home as the model, LifeWays takes its inspiration from the roots of Waldorf Education and the developmental research of Rudolf Steiner and others. We are currently seeking an assistant teacher to care for young children Monday-Friday afternoons. Pay grade based on education level of the caregiver and years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities
- Care for and supervise a mixed-age group of 8 children 2:30-5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Additional availability to substitute is highly valued
- Commitment to 15 hours of continuing education annually
Qualifications
- Some experience in child care with a demonstrated interest in continuing in child care work
- Meets all DCF requirements for training and job experience
- Meets all applicable licensing regulations
- Completed coursework in early childhood education (college level preferred)
- Knowledge of child development and Waldorf education are preferred
- Enrollment in or completion of the LifeWays Early Childhood Certification Training is preferred
