As a LifeWise Teacher in the LifeWise Zanesville City program, you will demonstrate in-depth Bible knowledge and outstanding teaching abilities. Our ideal candidate is an active church member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is caring, perceptive, and proficient in teaching children.
Job Description
Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom
Invest in building relationships with students and praying for them regularlyCreate and maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment through various teaching techniques and discipline that is redemptive in natureMaintain RecordsTake attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise Program Director and / or school officials as needed
Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns and special needs of students as noted on parent permission slipsPrepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacherMaintain the ClassroomMaintain a clean, attractive, and well-ordered classroom
Know procedures for dealing with emergency situationsPurchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by Program DirectorCommunicateAct as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as availableMaintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-beingBuild relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changesSubmit regular updates, stories, and photos to Program DirectorOther DutiesComplete the LifeWise Teacher Certification
Participate in the annual LifeWise SummitAttend virtual monthly LifeWise Teacher's Lounge meetingsHelp with fundraising events as neededQualifications and Experience
A minimum of two years of teaching experience in either a school or church setting.A mature personal Christian faith consistent with the LifeWise Academy Statement of FaithActive membership in a church in which teaching aligns with the LifeWise Academy Statement of FaithBenefits
