Position Overview :

  • School District Services :

In this role, you will work directly with students to assess, plan, and implement interventions that enhance their ability to function and thrive in the academic environment. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development, aiming to maximize their participation in school activities and improve their quality of life.

  • Early Intervention (Ages 0-3 Years)
  • In this role, you will work directly with infants and toddlers (ages 0-3) and their families, providing individualized occupational therapy services that address developmental delays and challenges. You will focus on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other critical developmental areas that support a child's ability to engage in daily activities and interact with their environment.

  • Wheelchair and Home Modifications and Assessments
  • In this role, you will assess, recommend, and implement mobility devices (including wheelchairs) and home modifications for patients with varying needs, ensuring that they can navigate their environment with ease and independence. You will work closely with clients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and contractors to design individualized solutions that enhance mobility, safety, and overall well-being.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Assess clients’ functional abilities and develop personalized treatment plans to address physical, cognitive, and sensory challenges.
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing clients’ daily living skills, mobility, and independence.
  • Educate and train clients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic activities to support continued progress outside of sessions.
  • Monitor and document client progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to align on treatment goals and provide comprehensive care.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed and accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay updated on best practices.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients by following all safety protocols and ethical standards.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist in California.
  • Experience working with clients who have physical, cognitive, or developmental challenges is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with relevant software and documentation practices.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to perform physical activities necessary for therapy sessions, including lifting and moving therapy equipment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and engage in active therapy exercises for extended periods.
