LifeWorks of Austin, TX is looking for a Resident Liaison to join our Transitional Living Program! The Resident Liaison oversees resident needs across Lifeworks residential properties, working with upwards of 80 units comprised of families, single occupants’ residents, and shared transitional living apartments. As part of the Transitional Living Program (TLP), this position works closely with other professionals in coordinating services provided within and outside of LifeWorks. The Resident Liaison builds trusting relationships with individuals and families that are not being served or are underserved by existing community service delivery systems. Services include (but are not limited to) supporting residents with the completion of intake process, administrative functions, as well as provision of basic needs, referrals, and crisis intervention. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to programs by maintaining client files, entering data, and completing required documentation.

This full time, non-exempt position earns a competitive starting rate of $24.86-$27.17/hr. depending upon experience. Benefits are also included, which consist of 24 PTO days per year (accrued); 11 paid holidays per year; a premium-free employee medical plan with $100 per month HSA contribution (plus other affordable employee or family medical, dental, and vision options!); a retirement savings plan with 50% match on the first 6% of contributions, and much more!

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight and assistance to residents across Lifeworks residential properties.
  • Engage with residents, creating an inclusive and supportive environment within their community. Build trusting relationships with clients through authentic engagement and strength-based, trauma-informed approaches to create a safe space where clients can share their experiences and concerns.
  • Incorporate life skills and wellness activities in coordination with various housing programs.
  • Provide resident-focused, healing-centered support services to diverse individuals who may have experienced chronic homelessness, systems involvement, mental health challenges, substance use challenges, a history of trauma, early pregnancy/parenthood, etc.
  • Maintain timely, complete, and accurate case records and documentation.
  • Perform heavy data entry into agency/funder databases and ensure timeliness and accuracy of data entry.
  • Assist residents with obtaining necessary documents to secure employment or housing (e.g., state ID, birth certificate, social security card).
  • Provide individualized services to residents that are primarily administrative in nature, such as completing paperwork or online applications, gathering of documents, etc.
  • Regularly and effectively assess and manage incidents and crisis situations with calm, care, and positive regard for residents, using de-escalation and safety planning techniques as appropriate.
  • Comply with all requirements outlined by funding sources, licensure, and accrediting bodies, the program, and the agency. These requirements may pertain to data, paperwork, philosophies, processes, and procedures, among other things.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to advocate for resident needs, coordinate services, and provide referrals.
  • Coordinate with local vendors (childcare, grocers, education institutions, and others) to establish business relationships to support purchase of goods and services for clients.
  • Participate in community events that may go outside of normal business hours.
  • Collaborate with LifeWorks employees and property management around vacant units, application submissions and move ins, in order to support new residents.
  • Transport residents to agencies and services, as needed.
  • Prepare for, and actively participate in, supervision meetings and all other required meetings or trainings.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in social or behavior sciences or administrative field;
  • Requires a minimum 2 years’ experience with youth; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in HMIS, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and agency database.
