Individual Giving Officer #1613

The Individual Giving Officer l eads and executes the organization's individual giving strategy, including but not limited to major and planned giving initiatives. Works as part of the Development team to identify, cultivate, and steward long-term relationships with individual donors, securing significant contributions that align with the organization's goals. Collaborates with leadership and colleagues across the organization to support a culture of philanthropy.

Location : This position will cover LifeWorks NW's Sylvan site.

Pay / Benefits : $88,539 starting annual salary plus Full benefits.

Essential Responsibilities :

Strategy and Leadership

Works closely with the President / CEO and Director of Development to :

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all individual giving strategies, including major and planned gifts.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to grow the individual giving program, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate closely with the President / CEO and Board of Directors to engage, solicit, and steward major donors and key stakeholders.
  • Recommend, develop plans, and meet annual fundraising goals for individual giving, tracking progress and adjusting strategies as needed.

Portfolio Management

  • Manage a robust portfolio of major gift and planned gift prospects and donors, focusing on donors capable of gifts of $1,000 and above.
  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors to secure significant support for the organization.
  • Identify and qualify new prospects through research and referrals, expanding the individual giving portfolio with a focus on major and planned gifts.
  • Donor Engagement and Stewardship

  • Develop and implement personalized engagement and stewardship plans for major donors, ensuring a high-quality donor experience that deepens their relationship with the organization.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create customized donor materials, including proposals, impact reports, and stewardship updates.
  • Board and Leadership Engagement

  • Support the President / CEO in engaging with the Board of Directors in fundraising efforts, providing guidance and coaching as needed to ensure effective donor cultivation and solicitation.
  • Prepare leadership and Board members for donor meetings and solicitations, providing briefings and strategic recommendations to maximize opportunities.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree and / or CFRE certification preferred.
  • Minimum four years progressive fundraising experience with a focus on individual giving, including major and planned gifts.
  • Interest in / passion for LifeWorks NW mission.
  • Proven track record of securing five- and six-figure gifts from individual donors.
  • Experience managing high level donor relationships and a significant portfolio of prospects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage donors and build long-term relationships.
  • Proficiency in fundraising databases and familiarity with portfolio management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with a range of stakeholders, including executive leadership and Board members.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in an ever-changing environment.
  • Computer proficiency required, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills and maintains a cooperative working relationship with others in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Requires access to a car and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work early mornings, evenings and occasional weekends.
