Summary:

Provide a variety of services for children & adults with autism and their families, including to help staff programs, prepare informational resources and assist with outreach efforts. Complies with all principles of Human Rights, D.P.P.C., Department of Developmental Services, the Division of Medical Assistance and all other applicable funding regulations as adhered to by Lifeworks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Help develop, organize and facilitate activities and programs, both at our center and in the community.
  • Meet with new and existing referrals to assist with benefits applications and informational resources.
  • Assist in the facilitation of workshops & trainings on topics pertinent to the ASD population.
  • Develop material and outreach efforts, including newsletters, community offerings and current research.
  • Help form community collaborations and partnerships that benefit those we serve.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of individuals and facilitate programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Occasional travel throughout the Newton/South Norfolk & Metro-Boston area

Qualifications:

Education and or Experience:

BA/BS and experience in the Human Services Field, or H.S. diploma/GED plus 5 years’ experience working in the Human Services Field.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.

Reasoning ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Vehicle and Travel:

Requires a legally insured and inspected automobile for use to be presented at work and available for use during working hours. If the program has an agency vehicle, staff are expected to drive it as needed.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

Valid and current driver's license from the state of residency, CPR, First Aid.
