JOB SUMMARY:
The Family Resource Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Family Resource Center and
its mission to provide comprehensive family support services as a way to mitigate the impact of
adversity and support protective factors among families, so that all children can grow, develop,
and thrive. Under the supervision of the Outreach Specialist, the Family Resource Coordinator will
focus on outreach, engagement, and case management for families within Choctaw, McCurtain,
and Pushmataha Counties. This position involves connecting families with essential resources,
facilitating workshops, and providing direct assistance to ensure families can access critical
services aimed at improving their well-being. The Family Resource Coordinator will also work
collaboratively with community partners to promote family stability, educational opportunities,
and the availability of supports/resources intended to empower families to achieve long-term
success. This is a safety sensitive position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Outreach and Engagement
1. Conduct outreach efforts to identify and engage families in need of services.2. Build relationships with local community/organizations to ensure awareness of the
Family Resource Center’s programming and to coordinate resources.
3. Serve as the initial point of contact for families seeking assistance, providing
information and guiding them through the intake process.
▪ Case Management and Support
1. Assess needs of families served and provide individualized support through case
management, referrals, and follow-up services.
2. Develop and implement family action plans based on assessments, ensuring families
receive timely and appropriate support.
3. Offer guidance and assistance in connecting families to community and internal
resources (e.g., housing, food assistance, mental health services, education).
▪ Workshop/Training Facilitation
1. Assist in planning and facilitating family-focused workshops, support groups, and
educational events designed to strengthen family resilience, parenting skills, selfadvocacy, and community resources and systems navigation knowledge.
2. Encourage active participation and engagement from families in workshops and
community-building activities.
▪ Data Collection and Reporting
1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of families served, services provided, and
progress made, following agency policies and confidentiality protocols.
2. Collect data on family outcomes and contribute to regular reporting for the Potts
Family Foundation and other stakeholders.
3. Track client progress and program effectiveness, ensuring that services are meeting the
needs of children and families served.
▪ Collaboration and Networking
1. Work closely with the Outreach Specialist, other staff members, and community
partners to ensure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery.
2. Assist Outreach Specialist with development and dissemination of a comprehensive
resource directory, as well as materials and resources for families.
3. Actively participate in team meetings (including the Parent Advisory Committee and
Community Partnership Council), training sessions, and community networking events
to stay informed about local resources, strategies, and emerging needs.
▪ Administrative Support
1. Assist with the intake process, including gathering necessary documentation, entering
client data into the tracking system, and maintaining case files.
2. In coordination with the Outreach Specialist, schedule, organize, and conduct
community outreach activities, workshops, and other program events.
▪ Compliance and Grant Reporting
1. Ensure services are delivered in alignment with the Potts Family Foundation’s
guidelines and the objectives of the Know and Grow Oklahoma Initiative.
2. Attend all required project meetings and trainings.
3. Provide regular updates and support the preparation of reports and documentation by
the Outreach Specialist to the Potts Family Foundation and other stakeholders.

1. Report to work at scheduled times and maintain good attendance; perform all duties in
a timely and professional manner, and participate with a positive attitude and behavior
in all program activities.
2. Maintain an environment that is tolerant and respectful of child and family cultures,
values, and differences; assist non-English speaking families.
3. Assist other staff with projects as requested. Perform other duties as assigned and
reasonably within scope of duties listed above.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIP:
The Family Resource Coordinator works under the supervision of the Outreach Specialist and

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two years of relevant experience working with children and families or any combination of
experience (including volunteer work) and training that would provide the required
knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties as described
2. Associate’s Degree or higher in a social science, child development, early childhood
education, or related field preferred
3. Previous experience related to community outreach, case management, or family support
services preferred, in addition to knowledge of local community resources and supports
4. Intermediate or advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases) a plus
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport and trust
6. Comfortable working on a team as well as independently; strong planning/organization skills
7. Ability to work effectively with groups and people of diverse backgrounds
8. Possess an understanding of the needs of low-income families and an appreciation for the
role of the parents as primary educators of their children
9. Must have a sincere interest in human needs, as well as the ability to cope with problems
encountered and assist with the development of families served
10. Must remain non-judgmental in sensitive areas involving values, attitudes, and behavior
11. Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for outreach or family support activities
12. Must have valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and own vehicle to use for work
13. Obtain required criminal record check clearance prior to hire and during employment as
required; must not have pending charges, entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere, or been
convicted of: any criminal activity involving violence against a person; child abuse or
neglect; possession, sale or distribution of illegal drugs; sexual misconduct; or an act of gross
irresponsibility or disregard for the safety of others or a pattern of criminal activity; or
required to register pursuant to the Sex Offender Registration Act or any person required to
register under the Mary Rippy Violent Crime Offenders Registration Act
14. Must provide documentation of physical health examination; obtain an annual health exam,
and TB screening.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
1. Constantly must be able to sit/stand in a stationary position 50% of the time, stoop, bend;
walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip, type; reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to
stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs
2. Frequently must be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office
machinery, etc.
3. Frequently must operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a
calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
4. Frequently must communicate with staff and others who have inquiries about the programs;
must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
5. Occasionally must move/carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
