Join LIFT Enrichment as a Chef Teacher where you can teach healthy culinary workshops to students at low-income schools. It’s a fun and rewarding job where you can help students learn a key life skill: learning to make easy and healthy meals!
Benefits:
- We compensate for prep time
- For single workshops, we pay for 3.5 hours, and for double workshops, we pay for 5 hours. This includes time for at-home prep, arriving on-site, teaching, and cleanup. Workshops typically start at 2:30 PM and end by 5:30 PM.

Requirements:
- Availability from 10am-4pm, 5 days per week
- Must have reliable transportation
- Clean background check to work with schools
- Experience working with kids: i.e. summer camp counselor, retired teacher, etc.
- Experience cooking at home: i.e. you can cook basic meals (no formal or professional chef experience is required)
Expectations:
- Create an engaging and dynamic learning environment
- Teach fun recipes like Pasta with Zucchini and Bell Peppers, Black Bean & Spinach Quesadilla with Pico de Gallo, Whole Wheat Grilled Cheese with Broccoli Slaw, Crispy Chicken Tenders with Mixed Green Salad
- Transport a culinary kit we provide to each site
- Complete reimbursement forms for ingredients purchased each week
This is a great fit for someone who is a retired teacher or a student in college who's pursuing a teaching degree. Each workshop involves 1 instructor leading a group of 15-20 students who are elementary or middle school students in low-income areas. This is not a good fit for someone who is looking for full-time work.

- Chef Teachers are responsible for purchasing groceries for their classes and are reimbursed within a week: Your first purchase will be around $150 dollars. Are you able to commit to purchasing the groceries and getting reimbursed within a week?
- How many years of experience do you have working with children? Please specify the age groups you have worked with and in what capacity (e.g., teacher, tutor, camp counselor, childcare worker, etc.)
- Do you own a car? This position requires driving.
- We are currently hiring for Spring Break. Are you available Mon- Fri 10 am to 4 pm?
