Job Responsibilities
- Execute under the guidance of job Foreman the installation of loading dock components including dock levelers, shelters, seals, bumpers, and vehicle restraints.
- Ensure proper alignment and functioning of loading dock systems to meet safety and operational standards.
- Install a variety of commercial doors including man doors, overhead doors, sectional doors, and high-speed doors.
- Install and assemble under guidance of job Foreman various types of racking systems such as pallet racks, cantilever racks, selective racks, and others as assigned by Management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines during installations to ensure a secure working environment.
- Address any issues or challenges that arise during the installation process promptly and effectively, finding practical solutions with approval of job Foreman, Installation Support Supervisor, and or Service Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities as assigned by management.
- Electronic submission of completed work orders to appropriate department.
- Perform other duties as required for business operation.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Valid Driver’s License in good standing.
- Two (2) years of relevant mechanical, welding, electrical and hydraulic experience.
- Ability to use electronic devices for document submission/communication and using work related Apps.
- Ability to write emails and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to managers, co-workers, clients, and the public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team on a variety of tasks.
- Previous background or experience in construction.
- Previous experience installing and repairing overhead doors.
- Positive attitude with eagerness to learn and willingness to be coached.
- Constant standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting and crawling with infrequent opportunities to sit.
- Use of hands, fingers, and arm to reach, grasp, pull and manipulate small objects.
- Wearing the proper PPE as required including safety glasses, and safety ankle boots is a requirement of this position.
- Must be able to lift or exert force up to 50 pounds with occasional need to lift or exert force more than 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in wet or humid conditions as well as extreme cold or heat.
- This position is located in various customer warehouses with elevated noise levels during working hours.
- Must be physically and mentally able to read, write, and follow directions.
