Summary / Purpose :
Develop and design mast, carriage and attachment assemblies for the material-handling industry utilizing practical engineering methods and techniques to meet and exceed customer applications.
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate internal and external customer requirements, generate 3D CAD models, and create 2D prints using appropriate GD&T schemes for prototype and production projects
- Perform structural analysis using classical methods and verify concepts with FEA simulations
- Interpret FEA simulation and or physical stress / strain test results and generate solutions to prevent product failures
- Follow departmental procedures to push and officially release product design data for purchasing and manufacturing use
- Benchmark competitive product applications, document findings and recommend best practices
- Communicate directly with customers to clearly define / document technical interface and product requirements
- Own projects from conception through production (Cradle to grave)
- Collaborate with various teams within the organization to solve technical problems and identify improvement opportunities
- Lead or support quality concern root cause analysis, correct action and solution verification
- Adhere to company safety procedures and 5S housekeeping policies
- Train others as assigned
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
