We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on recovery strategies, coping skills, and relapse prevention.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
- Engage in crisis intervention when necessary to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes in accordance with medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to coordinate care and support for clients in home community care settings.
- Conduct research data collection as needed to contribute to program development and improvement.
Experience
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in behavioral health or substance abuse counseling is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of PTSD care and child family counseling techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and patient care practices is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required for effective documentation and collaboration.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 9 – 15 per week
