What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern position at Lightcast?
As an Intern on one of our API development teams, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of engineering while contributing to real-world projects within our organization. This internship will expose you to the world of software development in the API space, allowing you to apply your knowledge and skills to solve technical challenges.
This is a part time internship, expected to continue through June of 2025 and is located in our Moscow, ID. office.
\n- Development: Assist engineering teams with ongoing projects, contributing to research, design, development, testing, and documentation efforts.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to achieve project goals.
- Design and Prototyping: Participate in the design, prototyping, and scoping of engineering solutions, creating drawings, models, or prototypes as needed.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare technical reports, documentation, and manuals related to engineering projects and processes.
- Problem Solving: Identify and address technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and propose solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Learning and Development: Proactively seek opportunities to learn from experienced professionals, participate in training sessions, and acquire new skills in engineering disciplines.
- Eagerness to learn and able to learn at speed.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and works well with a team.
- Ability in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Go, JavaScript, Rust, or C .
- Understanding of basic engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with database concepts (e.g. SQL, No SQL, RDBs).
