What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director, Infant Toddler Program position at Lighted Window Early Learning Center?
Must be able to work 9:30am-6pm

Qualifications
· B.A. Child Development preferred
· 24 units, including Infant/Toddler Development required
· Administration 1 required; Administration 2 preferred
· Five years of supervision experience
· Five years of classroom experience
· Meet all state-mandated requirements
· First Aid and CPR with pediatric component certification
· Fingerprint clearance
Knowledge
· Knowledge of infant and toddler development, teaching, and caregiving in a loving, nurturing, and safe environment for children aged 12 weeks to 36 months
· Knowledge of developmental milestones
· Principles and practices of early childhood education and development
· Nutritional awareness of health needs for young children
· Knowledge of record keeping, charting, progress reports
· Appropriate safety considerations for infants and toddlers
· Willingness to stay current on early childhood development and practices
· Willingness to continue education when the Executive Director sees it will benefit the program
· Create a developmental plan for each child to discuss with caregiver and parents
Administration
· Monitor day-to-day operations of the Infant Toddler Program
· Maintain open communication with staff
· Create a positive workplace culture
· Stay current with state regulations
· Adhere to all mandatory state licensing requirements
· Create a strong foundation for employees built on respect, trust, and open communication with other administrators to establish a healthy “work family”
Staffing
· Assist Executive Director with annual evaluations of staff
· Coordinate with Executive Director classroom observations and teacher team meetings
Compliance
· Maintain children’s files in accordance with state regulations along with Office Manager
· Communicate effectively with Executive Director and Office Manager any concerns you may have regarding the management of the infant-toddler program
Program Management: Infants and Toddlers
· Implement the practice of Primary Caregiving and support staff in the implementation of these practices
· Observe classroom teachers and provide written feedback
· Observe and support the development of all children and communicate suggestions to staff and parents
· Plan, supervise, and implement the policies and philosophy of LW ELC Infant and Toddler Program
· Foster healthy and positive relationships with children
· Must sing with children
· Observe, document, and plan for each child’s development
· Support children through transitions
· Assess classroom environments to meet the developmental milestones of the children in each classroom
· Provide support in developing activities and experiences that strengthen and promote cognitive, gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional, language (expressive and receptive), and adaptive development
Family Interactions
· Foster healthy and positive relationships with each family
· Respond to parent emails and calls
· Answer questions and address concerns of parents
· Provide resources for parents who need additional support outside of the program
· Communicate with Executive Director any issues with a parent
· Develop and maintain effective relationships with the infants, toddlers, and parental unit
Physical Requirements
· Must be able to sit on the ground and get up with ease, sometimes while holding a child
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds for short periods
· Must be able to bend and twist
· Must be able to change diapers, bottle feed, and spoon-feed children
