Airship Pilot

LTA is seeking an Airship Pilot to assist the Flight Operations team to develop and test fly our latest Airship, and assist with flight training in an ABC Lightship - model A60R. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with Flight Test Engineers, planning and performing Flight Test activities, directing staff to ensure the Airship is ready for flight, and developing flight procedures and training programs. Our ideal candidate has been flying professionally for at least 5 years. The pilot in this position will be a key representative of LTA by displaying a professional manner at all times and following all company policies and federal safety procedures and regulations.Responsibilities Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and flight proficiency in company’s airshipsCollaborating with engineers and pilots to plan, rehearse, and execute flight tests in a safe, effective, and efficient mannerParticipating in briefings and providing detailed documentation of observations from flight testingEnsuring regulatory and safety compliance in all operationsContributing to flight training programs and providing instruction, as neededProviding professional input on technical and operational considerationsDeveloping documentation for standardized processes and proceduresWorking independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic environmentDisplaying personal initiative to complete departmental objectives and take ownership of projectsQualifications / Skills FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate Preferred with Airship Rating; additional airplane or helicopter ratings, preferredCurrent FAA First or Second Class medical certificateMinimum 500 hours of airship experience preferredThrust Vector Control Airship experience, preferredFlight test experience, preferredCollege degree in an aerospace-related field preferred or equivalent professional developmentFamiliarity with flight training programs and instructional activitiesIn-depth knowledge and experience in airship systems, operations, and regulationsStrong aviation safety management, CRM, and decision-making skillsAbility to collaborate with engineers on technical subjects preferred.Operational mindset with proactive approach to problem-solvingExceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsProven abilities in multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced environmentWhat We Offer! The total compensation range for this role is $150,000 to $250,000, which is determined based on experience, geography, and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes a very competitive annual bonus, 401K Match, and other generous benefits.
