LightFeather is currently seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our cutting-edge cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business applications, optimize cloud performance, and drive automation across our infrastructure.

This is a Full Time, Remote Position.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure and scalable AWS cloud solutions, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and other AWS services.
  • Manage and monitor cloud resources to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
  • Automate cloud operations and deployments using CI/CD pipelines and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and implement best practices for cloud security, including IAM, VPC configurations, and data encryption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and services.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, software engineering, and security teams to align cloud solutions with business needs.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure design, configurations, and processes.
  • Stay updated with the latest AWS services, tools, and trends, recommending improvements as appropriate.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain clearance at the Public Trust level or above. Active or prior clearance is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and solutions.
  • Proficiency in designing and managing cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, including VPC, DNS, VPN, and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or Datadog.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and integrations.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
