LightFeather is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cloud Security Administrator to oversee the configuration, security, and governance of multiple tenants within the Department-owned Google Workspace (FAN) and Netskope environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Google Workspace or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security.
This is a Full Time, Hybrid Position. Must be local to the DC Metro area.
Responsibilities:
Security & Governance- Oversee and enforce security best practices within Google Workspace and Netskope, ensuring compliance with industry and organizational standards.
- Provide governance and strategic direction for Google Workspace security, ensuring alignment with compliance frameworks and security policies.
- Conduct risk assessments for applications, scripts, and extensions submitted through the request process, following the Initial Netskope Integration Change Request guidelines.
- Develop and implement security controls to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities in cloud-based environments.
- Manage and maintain multiple Google Workspace and Netskope tenants, ensuring seamless operation and security compliance.
- Support the integration of Netskope with additional cloud applications, collaborating with system owners to align security controls.
- Provide daily support for security incident review and resolution related to Google Workspace and Netskope.
- Investigate and escalate security incidents as needed, ensuring adherence to documented response procedures.
- Oversee continuous monitoring activities, analyze compliance dashboard findings, and implement corrective actions to address security gaps.
- Prepare and deliver quarterly briefings to the ISSO, summarizing security posture, risks, and recommendations.
- Actively participate in Google Workspace and Netskope security meetings, staying informed about new features, vulnerabilities, and best practices.
- Work closely with Google Workspace product owners, system owners, and ISSO to resolve security issues and ensure compliance.
- Review and approve change requests, ensuring they align with organizational security policies and compliance requirements.
- Provide security guidance and support to users, particularly regarding cloud security policies such as external sharing restrictions.
- Test and evaluate new security capabilities, configurations, and services within Google Workspace and Netskope.
- Provide recommendations on security policies, governance enhancements, and technical solutions based on evaluation outcomes.
- As cloud security needs evolve, responsibilities may expand to include device management and endpoint security.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- US Citizenship.
- Active Top Secret clearance is strongly preferred (Secret clearance holders will be considered).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5 years experience in Google Workspace security or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security in a security engineering or administration role.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, risk management, and governance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Netskope or similar cloud security platforms.
- Experience conducting security risk assessments, incident response, and compliance monitoring in cloud environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory compliance for cloud environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple security-related tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Industry certifications in Cloud Security (e.g., Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CISSP, CCSP).
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) best practices.
- Experience working in government or large enterprise settings.
