Responsibilities:
Azure Cloud Architecture & Engineering:
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure Azure cloud solutions, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep to automate deployments
- Optimize Azure networking, including Virtual Networks (VNet), NSGs, Firewalls, ExpressRoute, and VPN Gateway
- Configure and manage Azure security controls, including RBAC, Azure AD, Key Vault, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel
- Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions that integrate with on-premises infrastructure
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Automate deployments, monitoring, and configuration management using PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting
- Implement containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
- Ensure best practices for cloud cost optimization, monitoring, and governance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Cost Management
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA, DISA STIGs)
- Conduct security assessments and implement Azure Policy, Security Center, and Defender for Cloud
- Implement Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles in Azure environments
- Manage identity and access management (IAM), including Azure AD, MFA, PIM, and Conditional Access Policies
- Serve as Scrum Master, leading Agile/Scrum ceremonies and driving DevSecOps best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, security engineers, and system administrators
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on Azure best practices and cloud security
- US Citizenship
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret/Top Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent
- 5 years of hands-on experience in Azure cloud engineering, DevOps, and security
- Strong expertise in Azure networking, security, and governance
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM, and Bicep
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Strong scripting and automation skills with PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Docker, and containerized deployments
- Experience in federal IT environments or other highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud architectures integrating Azure with on-premises environments
- Strong background in cloud security best practices and governance
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategies
