We seek an Assistive Technology (AT) Intern with a passion for technology and accessibility who would like to gain experience in teaching assistive technology.
Program Goals:

- Provide hands-on experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of assistive technology training.
- Exposure to a variety of assistive technology modalities
- Understand the challenges of blind and visually impaired learners of all ages
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree or higher (preferred)
Experience:
Experience working with people who are blind or visually impaired (preferred)
Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills:
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess a working knowledge Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Possess a willingness to learn and develop teaching skills
Physical Demands:
- Ability to move about independently
- Ability to move and lift items up to 25 lbs.
- Prolonged standing upon occasion
- Prolonged sitting at a workstation
Requirements:
- Pass Level II background checks
- Possess or be able to utilize reliable transportation
- Eligible to work in the United States
For employees living with visual impairments, you must provide documentation from a physician of legal blindness. Legal blindness is defined as: "Central visual acuity does not exceed 20/200 in the better eye with correcting lenses OR whose visual acuity, if better than 20/200, is accompanied by a limit to the field of vision in the better eye to such a degree that its widest diameter subtends an angle no greater than 20 degrees." These conditions are based on the federal Javits-Wagner-O'Day work program for legally blind individuals.
