Description

We seek a Vice President of Program Services who will oversee the organization’s vision rehabilitation programs and ensure services are innovative, efficient, and effective in meeting the needs of individuals with visual impairments. This position will advance the organization’s mission of empowering individuals with visual impairments to lead independent and fulfilling lives and lead the charge toward achieving the organization’s strategic goals for Vision Rehabilitation Services.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Successfully manage all Program Contracts and support the growth and onboarding of additional vision rehabilitation service offerings.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for vision rehabilitation programs and services in collaboration with Executive Management and other Senior Leaders.
  • Keep abreast of the field's emerging trends, developments, and ideas.
  • Manage and support program staff, providing leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Hire, develop, coach, appraise, reward, and retain highly qualified staff, and continue to promote, create, and support more and ever-advancing employment opportunities for people who are blind and visually impaired throughout the organization.
  • Assist with designing and implementing business strategies, plans, and procedures, including annual operating budgets and new business plans.
  • Oversee program budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and effective use of resources.
  • Oversee daily operations of Lighthouse Central Florida’s service offerings to excellence.
  • Assist with developing innovative service delivery models to expand the mission and support the organization’s continued growth.
  • Act as a catalyst for change and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption to move the organization forward.
  • Ensure high-quality control of all output as it pertains to the delivery of services.
  • Monitor program outcomes and analyze data and metrics to evaluate business performance and the effectiveness of programs to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Develop relationships with community partners, vendors, donors, and stakeholders to promote the organization’s programs and services and collaborate mutually.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of programs and services across the organization.
  • Support the fund development team’s philanthropic efforts to help support the organization’s overall financial health and sustainability.
  • Provide leadership throughout the organization and support other leadership team members as needed.
  • Serve as a member of the organization’s Executive Leadership team.
  • Model and champion all organizational core values, including the Lighthouse Entrepreneurial Operating System.

Qualifications


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees preferred from an accredited university in Visual Disabilities, Business Administration, Non-profit Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in program management.
  • Must have substantial managerial experience and strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with vision loss is preferred.

Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of database systems, trends, methodologies, and resource management principles.
  • Solid understanding of data analysis, budgeting, and business operations.
  • Understanding of grants and other funding mechanisms and the ability to work collaboratively with Fundraising and Marketing teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of program budgeting and fiscal management.
  • Knowledge of personnel management, program evaluation, and rehabilitation related to individuals who are blind or visually impaired.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct program activities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain partnerships, negotiate with vendors, and manage relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically in a dynamic environment and deliver results.
  • Executive management and leadership skills.
  • Experience with Traction/EOS preferred.
  • Self-Starter with superior organizational skills; ability to multi-task, adapt to change, pay attention to detail, and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and choose the best solution from several possible outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Exhibit professional maturity, judgment, and objectivity.
  • Capable of working with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to remain in a normal seated position regularly.
  • Repetitive motion/use of hands for fine manipulation on a computer.
  • Ability to bend and twist occasionally.
  • Ability to move and lift items, usually up to 35 lbs.
  • Occasional travel is required.

Requirements:

  • Must pass Level II background check.
  • Moderate travel to conventions, events, etc.
