Job Description - Facility Maintenance/Custodial Staff
Department: Facilities
Reports to: Facilities Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
Job Description: Assists with custodial and repair & maintenance of buildings, equipment, grounds and athletic fields to help advance the mission and vision of Lighthouse Christian School.
Qualifications:
- Born-again Christian and credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Scriptures.
- Active member of an evangelical Trinitarian church
- Strong work ethic, dependable, and the ability to work efficiently with a service-oriented attitude
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Prior work experience related to the essential duties of a custodial/maintenance worker
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to trouble-shoot issues or challenges.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and efficiently complete all tasks assigned.
- Ability to anticipate potential needs and provide creative, imaginative solutions.
Duties
- Perform custodial services on restrooms, classrooms, meeting areas, and other common areas
- Perform routine maintenance work on equipment, facilities, and grounds
- Ensure the facilities and grounds are clean, operational, and in safe condition
- Tear down and set up rooms (chairs, tables, etc.)
- Ensure security of the buildings and grounds
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Personality conducive to positive work interactions with students, staff, administrators, parents, donors, and other patrons
- Attends weekly devotions, in-service meetings, planning/departmental meetings and professional development as required.
Work Requirements
- Full-time, non-exempt, year-round position.
- Hourly wage and benefits as outlined in the at-will employment letter
- Significant physical abilities include lifting fifty (50) pounds, carrying, pushing, balancing, stooping, reaching, handling, fingering, talking, hearing conversations and other sounds (potential hazards), visual acuity, and depth perception.
- Facilities work is completed both indoors and outdoors.
- Consistent and proper use of necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Regular and dependable attendance a must
