Job Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Head of Schools
Job Summary:
Lighthouse Christian School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager to oversee our financial operations. This role is vital to ensuring the financial health of our school, supporting our mission to provide a Christ-centered education to our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations, including posting journal entries and verifying billings, invoices, and checks.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Knowledge of FACTS Portal
- Knowledge of tuition. School background essential.
- Track and prepare monthly budget variance reports.
- Supervise Payroll Coordinator. Experience in PayCor or similar systems preferred.
- Oversee accounts receivable (A/R) payment plans and collections.
- Post accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions.
- Assist in completing complex financial calculations and reconciliations.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and bank statements on a monthly basis.
- Perform ACH and wire transfers, and ensure error-free accounting transactions.
- Analyze financial trends and communicate financial status to the Head of Schools and relevant departments.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Lead and manage the accounting and finance team effectively.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software and financial tools; experience with Quickbooks and FACTS is preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree with a required 4 years of related work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and general ledger functions.
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and quantitative skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, lead effectively, and manage conflict with students, parents, and co-workers.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic non-profit environment.
