Lighthouse Environmental Services, Inc. (Lighthouse) in Houston, TX is a growing environmental services firm and is seeking a Waste Supervisor to manage, segregate, pack, and inspect special waste in accordance with Federal/State/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures. This position will work both indoors and outdoors and is responsible for assisting with waste management activities at industrial sites and facilities.

Standard Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices and policies and always performing job tasks with safety in mind!!!
- Collect and prepare waste samples for laboratory analysis
- Build and maintain client relationships to ensure effective communication and project collaboration
- Willingness to learn and train with the top environmental field services representatives
- Manage waste accumulation areas to ensure proper storage, containerization, labeling and compliance
- Coordinate and prepare waste shipments, including manifest and hauling ticket preparation and other hazardous transportation documentation
- Understand waste and DOT hazardous materials labeling and documentation
- Inspect waste containers for compliance with labeling regulations
- Responsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company policies.
- Prepare site specific safe work permits, safety plans and/or JSA’s for a waste related job activity.
- Understand customer specific disposal restrictions/special packaging requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s license
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft office – Outlook, Word, excel, etc.
- Perform physical functions per job requirements – ability to lift and carry 30lbs.
- Successfully complete a background check and drug and alcohol test and enroll in random alcohol and drug testing program
- Possess Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card)
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently without supervision
- Understand the value of teamwork and achieving greatness together
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in Environmental or Natural Science
- Previous experience in Environmental Services (i.e. waste, emergency spill response, specialty cleaning, remediation, etc.)
