Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, support patients through their recovery process, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Duties
- Assess and monitor patients’ conditions, including vital signs and symptoms.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide pain management and ostomy care to patients as needed.
- Document all patient interactions and medical information accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform venipuncture and IV infusion procedures as required.
- Assist in the coordination of patient care in various settings, including medical offices, ER, home community care, and laboratory environments.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, post-operative care, and recovery processes.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in a medical/surgical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of pain management techniques and ostomy care practices.
- Familiarity with medical documentation standards and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
