Job Overview
Lighthouse Immersive is looking for friendly, extraverted, and professional Venue Manager for an immersive art exhibit scheduled to run in Boston’s The Saunders Castle at Park Plaza.
The ideal candidate will have experience in General Management, customer service, staff management, and arts administration. Strong communication and organizational skills. The ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment all while leading a team of individuals to success.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Venue Manager will take control of the full operational functions of the Boston’s venue. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Creates a nurturing workplace environment for all and embrace diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives when hiring, onboarding, and supervising all staff members.
· Reviews staff time-sheets and approves timecards prior to submitting payroll to be processed.
· Oversees the scheduling of all Assistant Managers, Supervisors and exhibit attendants.
· Oversees the management within the departments of Box Office, Bar, Gift Shop, Cleaning and Security staff as well as multiple third-party suppliers.
· Manages cash flow and settles tills at the end of day with the Box Office manager, Gift Shop manager, and Bar supervisor.
· Reconcile and generates weekly cash reports.
· Generates weekly ticket sales reports
· Ensures staff compliance to all handbook policies and practices
· Tracks and manages petty cash, submitting reports and receipts to Finance Department.
· Personnel hiring and management. With HR and management assistance, reviews and manages staff concerns and handles conflict resolution.
· Implements and maintains the Employees’ Recognition Program.
· Troubleshoots technical problems with projector/ audio equipment when possible.
· Oversees the inventory tracking system for deliveries, shipments, and stock for the venue.
· Opens/closes venue, with Assistant Manager and supervisors, ensuring proper procedures and protocols have been followed.
· Ensures the timely operation of the exhibit.
· Implements the health and safety procedures to protect staff and patrons.
· Participates in weekly staff meetings.
· Oversees all special events.
· Other duties as assigned by regional management
Skills & Qualifications
· 3 years of previous experience in general management preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree with a focus on arts administration or comparable professional experience.
· General knowledge of all areas of arts administration, production, and operations.
· Experience with Microsoft Office is required, experience with Paylocity is preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
· Ability to work across teams and build strong internal and external networks, with a variety of different people.
· Calm under pressure.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize, track and manage multiple high priority tasks at a given time.
· Outstanding judgement and an ability to make decisions in a timely fashion in consultation with multiple stakeholders.
· Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills.
· Desire to challenge traditional processes in order to find efficiencies and improve performance.
· Strong drive to establish systems and prioritize projects.
· Collaborative team player with a high degree of personal initiative and accountability
