Position Overview :

The Blood Bank Supervisor oversees the daily operations and staff within the Blood Bank laboratory. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this role ensures accurate blood sample processing, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care. The supervisor guides technical staff performance, fosters a professional work environment, and addresses operational challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities :

Operational Leadership :

Manage the daily activities of the Blood Bank, ensuring efficient and accurate laboratory procedures.

Staff Supervision :

Oversee laboratory personnel, including scheduling, performance evaluations, training, and resolving personnel issues to maintain a high-performing team.

Technical Expertise :

Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, quality control, and safety protocols. Provide technical support for complex issues.

Regulatory Compliance :

Maintain adherence to FDA, CAP, AABB, and CLIA regulatory standards.

Quality Management :

Monitor quality control processes and implement corrective actions to uphold laboratory performance and patient safety standards.

Problem Resolution :

Investigate and resolve technical discrepancies, procedural deviations, and complaints, fostering continuous improvement.

Inventory Oversight :

Manage inventory of blood products and supplies, ensuring proper storage and availability.

Documentation and Reporting :

Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities, including test results and quality control data.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration :

Work with healthcare providers to support patient care and optimize laboratory services.

Support to Laboratory Management :

Provide backup support to the Laboratory Manager and assist with laboratory operations as needed.

Additional Responsibilities :

Perform other duties as assigned.

Shift and Salary :

Day shift, Monday - Friday

Annual Salary Range : $73,444.80 - $117,520.00

Minimum Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, meeting Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act & Amendments (CLIA) requirements.

Experience :

Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical laboratory experience, preferably in Blood Bank operations.

Certification :

Certification as a Medical Technologist, Blood Bank Specialist, or equivalent (ASCP or similar).
