Job Description

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a highly qualified Laboratory Manager to oversee the technical operations of a clinical laboratory near Arlington Heights, IL. This position involves managing laboratory staff, instrumentation, automation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Role Summary :

The Laboratory Manager will provide technical expertise in the acquisition, programming, operation, training, and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments. This individual may also be involved in managing the daily laboratory operations.

Qualifications :

Must be licensed as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with the American Society of Clinical Pathology or an acceptable equivalent.
Must have at least 5 years of Lab Management experience
Minimum of one year of LC-MS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities :

Actively contribute to team efforts and assist coworkers.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to maintain acceptable levels of analytic performance.

Administer and technically supervise the clinical laboratory, ensuring full performance and high morale.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies (e.g., CLIA, COLA, State).

Oversee quality control data, ensuring proper functioning of equipment.

Manage human resource functions in the testing laboratory, including hiring, addressing performance issues, and conducting performance reviews.

Perform duties delegated from the laboratory director, including blind testing and proficiency testing.

Verify test procedures and establish the laboratory's test performance characteristics.

Enroll and participate in an approved proficiency testing program.

Establish and maintain a quality control program appropriate for the testing performed.

Identify training needs and ensure individuals receive regular in-service training and education.

Collaborate with the laboratory director, director of lab ops, QA, and Safety on inspections, quality / safety programs, and process improvement initiatives.

Salary Range :

110,000 - $125,000 per year.

This position is also eligible for a yearly bonus and equity.
