Department : Pathology - Core Lab
Location : Cary, North Carolina
Employment Type : Full Time (60-80 Hours)
Shift : Day (Monday - Friday, 6 : 30 am - 3 : 00 pm)
Salary : $28.00 - $40.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Overview
The Medical Technologist III plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by performing routine and specialized laboratory tests with a high degree of expertise and independence. This position requires advanced technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice.
The Medical Technologist III will :
- Conduct laboratory tests and evaluate patient results using independent judgment and established protocols.
- Operate and maintain requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems.
- Ensure quality control and actively participate in laboratory maintenance, including supplies and equipment.
- Take a leadership role in developing and implementing new procedures, instrumentation, and technology.
- Assume responsibility for key laboratory projects, including safety, quality control, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide mentorship and training to less experienced staff and oversee employee competency and training documentation.
- Review laboratory reports and procedures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Oversee departmental proficiency testing and maintain technical resources and procedure manuals.
As a technical expert, the Medical Technologist III serves as a resource and mentor to the team, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and promoting continuous improvement.
