Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking an experienced Molecular Technologist to join an existing independent reference laboratory located in Tampa, FL. This is an established reference laboratory that focuses on PCR, NGS, PGX and CGX testing. This laboratory uses Illumina and ThermoFisher instruments.
Shift: M-F Days
Key Responsibilities
- Perform molecular testing, with a primary focus on PCR, NGS, CGX, and PGX testing.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot QuantStudio equipment to ensure accurate and efficient results.
- Conduct DNA/RNA extraction and prepare samples for real-time PCR analysis.
- Analyze, interpret, and report test results with a high degree of accuracy.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, including compliance with HIPAA, GLP, and CAP/CLIA regulations.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including reagents and consumables, ensuring readiness for testing.
- Collaborate with colleagues to optimize test performance and turnaround times.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including instrument calibration, proficiency testing, and performance monitoring.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Molecular Technologist License in the state of Florida
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in molecular diagnostics, with specific expertise in PCR testing.
- Hands-on experience with ThermoFisher or Illumina equipment is required.
- Skills:
- Proficient in DNA/RNA extraction and real-time PCR techniques.
- NGS, PGX, CGX experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, including CAP/CLIA standards.
