Job Title : Material Control Attendant
Location : Staten Island, NY
Type : 6 months Contract Temp-to-Hire
Salary : $21–$27 / hr
Position Overview :
Lighthouse Professional Services is currently seeking a highly skilled Material Control Attendant to join our client in Staten Island, NY. In this role, you will perform material handling, inventory management, and production support duties in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in material control processes and the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities :
Material Handling :
Perform kiting, tracking, and moving material using work procedures, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions.
Assemble kits with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintain shelf locations and perform cycle counts.
Warehousing :
Complete shipping, receiving, and documentation tasks with accuracy.
Maintain organized stockroom conditions and good housekeeping habits.
Inventory Management :
Utilize the company’s computer inventory system to verify inventory, research transactions, and perform transfers.
Research and resolve discrepancies, providing detailed reports of findings.
Production Support :
Expedite materials for production and track shortages, lost, or damaged items.
Support production processes with efficient material service.
Equipment Operation :
Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
Load and unload trailer trucks and containers as required.
Required Skills & Experience :
Minimum 3 years of experience in material control, stockroom, or a related role (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
Proficiency in the English measurement system (willingness to learn the Metric system).
Strong arithmetic and counting skills.
Familiarity with hand tools such as tape measures, hammers, and nails.
Physical ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including climbing stairs / ladders and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
