Position Overview:
Lighthouse Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine is seeking a dedicated and certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our team in an exciting outreach role at University High School. As part of our growing network of healthcare professionals, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with high school athletes to prevent, assess, and treat sports-related injuries, all while being an integral part of the school community.This full-time position is based at University High School, where you’ll work directly with student-athletes, coaches, and school staff to promote safe and effective athletic participation. You’ll be responsible for providing injury prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and education services for athletes, while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship with both Lighthouse Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine and University High School.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services to all sports teams at University High School, including injury prevention, first aid, evaluation, and rehabilitation.
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs, warm-up routines, and safe exercise protocols for athletes.
- Assess, treat, and manage sports-related injuries, collaborating with team physicians and specialists as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of all injuries, treatments, and rehabilitations, following proper documentation protocols.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and parents regarding injuries and return-to-play progress.
- Assist with the management of athletic training equipment and supplies.
- Serve as a resource for coaches and athletic department staff on best practices for injury prevention and sports safety.
- Coordinate coverage for practices, games, and other school events, including travel when required.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulations and guidelines regarding athletic health and safety.
Qualifications:
- Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the Board of Certification (BOC).
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed in the state (if applicable).
- Previous experience working with high school or collegiate athletes is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy.
- Knowledge of current techniques and best practices in sports medicine and athletic training.
