Hope Rescue Mission has been dedicated to providing a safe haven for individuals experiencing homelessness in Berks County for 130 years. Traditionally, this support has been focused on men, offering them meals, shelter, and the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ every day of the year. Recognizing the unique and critical needs of homeless women and children, the organization expanded its mission by opening the LightHouse Women & Children's Center in October 2023. Through the LightHouse, Hope is expanding its mission to support women and children by giving them a safe place to stay while they rebuild their lives. The LightHouse offers 43 rooms where single women and women with children can live for up to six months. We also provide emergency shelter rooms for short-term stays. Guests receive support like job training, education, and access to mental health and addiction services.
